COP25 Madrid: EO4SD Climate Cluster engages with IFIs at COP25

EO4SD Climate Resilience’s Project Lead, Carlos Domenech, will be attending the United Nation’s 25th Climate Summit COP25 in Madrid from 2 to 13th December. He will be representing the EO4SD Climate Resilience Cluster, highlighting its work through a series of meetings with climate-related international institutions representatives.

Meetings have been scheduled with the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IAD), the Southern African Science Service Centre for Climate Change and Adaptive Land Management (SASSCAL), the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD), the Group on Observations (GEO), the European Commission’s DG GROW, the European Space Agency (ESA), the World Bank (WB), the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the Copernicus Atmospheric Monitoring Service (CAMS) and African Risk Capacity (ARC), amongst many others.

In addition to the meetings, Carlos will be participating in a panel discussion looking at examples of how Earth observation provides new valuable data to better understand Earth and its climate and to develop plans for long-term climate resilience. ‘Space Earth Observation – A Source of New Data for Understanding Our Planet’ will be held on December 4th at 13:00.
